Birds
Bird Song Chalet derives its name from the vast variety of birds that make their home here. Guests may enjoy their breakfast on the terrace during the summer, serenaded by the numerous song birds.
Among the feathered residents are:
- Hummingbirds
- Cardinals
- Blue jays
- Morning doves
- Robins
- Red-winged blackbirds
- Wood peckers
- Blue birds
- Tree and barn swallows
- Mocking birds
- Falcons
- Carolina wren
- Screech owls
- American goldfinches
- Ducks
- Herons
- Rare European goldfinch
The rare European Goldfinch has been in residence since July 2007. There are at least 3 now, however, we need a good bird watcher to tell us if there is a propagating pair. Are you up for the challenge?
Canada geese annually nest on the island of Willow Lake and their goslings hatch around Mother's Day in mid-May. You will want to be there for that event!
